The behind-the-scenes video, released on Monday, introduces three new actors joining the ensemble cast: Nell Fisher (“Evil Dead Rise”), Alex Breaux (“Waco: The Aftermath”), and newcomer Jake Connelly. Narrated by several main cast members, the footage primarily showcases the Atlanta-based soundstages where much of Season 5 has been filmed throughout 2024. According to Caleb McLaughlin, the cast is about halfway through production, leaving much of the season still to shoot.

While the video is careful not to divulge too much about the plot, it teases some exciting and nostalgic moments. One scene shows the core friend group — Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp) — huddled around a radio. Another shot features this foursome joined by Joyce (Winona Ryder), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Steve (Joe Keery) gathered around an overhead projector. This reunion is significant as these characters were separated for most of Season 4.
