Kanye West, the acclaimed rapper and fashion entrepreneur, is now embroiled in serious legal trouble as his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, has filed a lawsuit against him. The allegations, which include sexual harassment and wrongful termination, paint a troubling picture of Pisciotta’s time working with West.
Lauren Pisciotta joined Kanye West’s team in July 2021, a period when he was gearing up to launch his highly anticipated Yeezy fashion line. Pisciotta, also known for her work on several tracks from West’s “Donda” album, was initially offered a $1 million annual salary. The catch? She had to be available 24/7, a condition she accepted given the lucrative offer.
Pisciotta claims that her additional income from an OnlyFans account, amounting to another $1 million annually, was cut short when West requested she delete the account in 2022. He allegedly urged her to adopt a more “God-like” persona, promising to raise her salary to $2 million a year to compensate for the lost revenue. However, Pisciotta asserts that this promise was never fulfilled.
Allegations of Misconduct
According to the court documents, Pisciotta experienced a series of inappropriate behaviors from West. She alleges that he began sending her vulgar text messages, one of which disturbingly read, “See my problem is I be wanting to f–k but then after I f–k I want a girl to tell me how hard they been f–ked while I’m f–ing them. Then I want her to cheat on me.” In addition to these messages, Pisciotta claims West sent explicit videos and photos of himself with other women. He also allegedly shared intimate images of current and former Yeezy employees, including both men and women, and engaged in explicit conduct during phone conversations.
Escalation to Chief of Staff and Subsequent Firing
In September 2022, Pisciotta was promoted to Chief of Staff across several of West’s companies, with a substantial salary increase to $4 million. However, just a month later, she was terminated. She claims she was promised $3 million in severance pay, which she never received. Pisciotta’s lawsuit seeks compensation for breach of contract and the creation of a hostile work environment.
Context of Allegations, Legal and Public Repercussions
This lawsuit comes on the heels of other accusations against West. Recently, Benjamin Deshon Provo, a former security guard at West’s Donda Academy, alleged racial discrimination. Provo’s lawsuit claims that West berated black employees and voiced negative beliefs about prominent black leaders, further complicating West’s legal battles. As these cases progress, they highlight significant issues regarding workplace conduct and the importance of maintaining a respectful and safe environment for all employees. Representatives for Kanye West have not yet responded to these latest allegations.
Reps for West have not yet commented on the latest lawsuit. However, these allegations add to a growing list of legal challenges facing the artist, who has been embroiled in several controversies over the years. The allegations against Kanye West by Lauren Pisciotta paint a disturbing picture of workplace misconduct and harassment. As the legal process unfolds, these claims highlight the urgent need for safer, more respectful work environments in all industries.
